Little India

The photograph of a vegetable stall in Little India attracts a lot of foreign workers. It is during night time as the lights are switched on. The crowd doing their marketing at this time is because it is their day off from work. It is very likely a Sunday. The Indian workers are dressed casually mostly in T-shirts. Some are looking at the vegetables while others are walking around the market. There are variety of vegetables that are placed neatly for easy to choose. The vegetables look very fresh. The stall is near the roadside. In the market near my house, there are similar scenes of foreign workers doing their marketing and walking around the shops on Sunday.

Bus Hijacking in Philippines

The recent tourist bus being hijacked by a sacked police officer from the Philippines police force was unfortunate and sad. The death of eight Hong Kong tourists can be prevented if the Philippines police are well trained. They are inefficient and not professional in their rescue attempt. There should be an expert counsellor and negotiator to talk to the kidnapper. The police also drag too long to rescue the hostages. They should know that the hostages lives are precious too. When the police stormed the bus, there is no proper coordination. When they shoot the kidnapper, they should also take consideration that their bullets can also hit the hostages and kill them.

3-2-1 Reflection on what I have done in school for this term

I have learned new and important values for myself, the right attitude towards my behaviour in school and to learn to have an act of kindness. I would like to improve on myself for being much more stronger and firmer in character. I would also like to improve myself for coming to school on time. I would like to learn more about public speaking . This will help me to improve on the way I speak towards the public.

Living in Singapore

Living in Singapore is great. Singapore is a peaceful place to live in. Singapore has good facilities. Singapore is clean (litter-free). There is racial harmony among the races and there is no natural disasters except the occasional flooding after the heavy rainfall around the island. Singapore is a beautiful garden city because of the huge amount of greenery around the island. There are many gardens, parks and beaches for the people to relex. For leisure and entertainment, one can go to the museum, Science Centre Zoo and the Bird park. I like living in Singapore because it is a safe place. I also hope that the fast pace of life can slow down a little to reduce the stress.

The Lion and the Mouse

A sleeping Lion was annoyed by a mouse running over his body. He caught him and wanted to eat it. The mouse beg the Lion to let it go and it will repay the Lion’ kindness in future. The Lion laughed and cannot believe that such a small mouse can help him. Later, some hunters trapped the Lion and tied it to a rope. The Lion roared for help and the mouse ran over to bite the rope with its sharp teeth and set the Lion free. The Lion was grateful to the mouse.
We should not judge things based on the size. Small little friends can be a great help when they offer their help at the most critical moment.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Hare is over-confident and proud because he think that he is the fastest animal. He looked down on Tortoise as Tortoise is slow with short and stumpy feet. He challenged Tortoise to a race and Tortoise accepted the challenge. Hare ran very fast and decided to take a nap thinking that Tortoise was very far behind. But Hare overslept and Tortoise finished the race which made Hare very angry with himself and felt silly.
We should not be contented and under-estimate the weak ones. We should be consistent with our work so that we can achieve our goal.

Why do we need philosophy/ religion today? They seem to cause more division and problems

I believe we need religion and philosophy in order to live the right role of life. Religion can teach discipline, a sense of moral values, a sense of right and wrong. It can act as a guide for behaviour, caring for others with unconditional love. It also teaches us to reach out to people who are suffering. To accept people without judgment and respect for each other.
